So this may be a story I can tell at my daughters wedding...many, many, MANY years down the road! Today Jillian and I were out and about running some errands. We were leaving a store when I noticed her diaper was full and she wet through a little on the side. I thought, "We are on our way to the mall, I can change her there with a nice changing area in the Family Bathroom. It should be fine." Well it might have been, but Jillian peed more on the way to the mall...I had noticed the wet spot had gotten bigger. Meanwhile as I was walking in I was talking to Jason and found out he was at the mall as well!
I went right up to the changing room right away. Took off Jillian's wet pants, her sweater and her wet onsie (leaving pretty much just her socks on). I got out the one and only dry extra clothing I had, a pink onsie. So I put that on her and then took off her wet diaper. As I threw it away and was getting out a new diaper, Jillian was peeing more! She peed so much it made a puddle! As I was scrambling to get her shoes and feet out of the puddle, she was splashing her hands in it. So I stood her up in it and she began to pee more! At this point Jason came in to find us. He found Jillian standing in a puddle of her own pee and me laughing (at this point that is all I could do). Her socks were all wet and the last piece of dry extra clothing I had was wet as well. So Jason took Jillian into the other bathroom to wash off her feet and dry her off. I began to mop up the pond she created on the changing table. All she had that was dry were her shoes and sweater...so I put those on and we were off to have lunch and run our errand. I am sure people took one look at this small child running around the mall with no pants on and thought, "Doesn't that mother know it is November and cold out today!?" What an adventure! It didn't seem to bother Jillian one bit=)
I have to say that I was VERY thankful that Jason happened to be at the mall as well. I don't know what I would have done if he wasn't there to help!
