Funny Story!

So this may be a story I can tell at my daughters wedding...many, many, MANY years down the road! Today Jillian and I were out and about running some errands. We were leaving a store when I noticed her diaper was full and she wet through a little on the side. I thought, "We are on our way to the mall, I can change her there with a nice changing area in the Family Bathroom. It should be fine." Well it might have been, but Jillian peed more on the way to the mall...I had noticed the wet spot had gotten bigger. Meanwhile as I was walking in I was talking to Jason and found out he was at the mall as well!

I went right up to the changing room right away. Took off Jillian's wet pants, her sweater and her wet onsie (leaving pretty much just her socks on). I got out the one and only dry extra clothing I had, a pink onsie. So I put that on her and then took off her wet diaper. As I threw it away and was getting out a new diaper, Jillian was peeing more! She peed so much it made a puddle! As I was scrambling to get her shoes and feet out of the puddle, she was splashing her hands in it. So I stood her up in it and she began to pee more! At this point Jason came in to find us. He found Jillian standing in a puddle of her own pee and me laughing (at this point that is all I could do). Her socks were all wet and the last piece of dry extra clothing I had was wet as well. So Jason took Jillian into the other bathroom to wash off her feet and dry her off. I began to mop up the pond she created on the changing table. All she had that was dry were her shoes and sweater...so I put those on and we were off to have lunch and run our errand. I am sure people took one look at this small child running around the mall with no pants on and thought, "Doesn't that mother know it is November and cold out today!?" What an adventure! It didn't seem to bother Jillian one bit=)

I have to say that I was VERY thankful that Jason happened to be at the mall as well. I don't know what I would have done if he wasn't there to help!

eating applesauce.3g2

Big girl feeding myself!

So tonight Jillian decided she wanted to feed herself. She used a fork to eat her fish sticks and a spoon to eat her apple sauce...take a look at how...successful...or not successful she was!

She did use a spoon...I promise!

Walk with Daddy!

Jason has an incredibly busy week this week. And since we were gone at Grandma Grace's for the weekend, we haven't seen much of him. Monday night he had to drive down to IL for a seminar. He didn't get back until Wednesday late morning. Since we had Cole over he decided to work for awhile and make it an early day to spend some time with us Wednesday. He came home early afternoon and after Jillian's afternoon nap we went for a little walk. They just finished the bike path near our house (Hank Aaron trail that conects to the Oak Leaf trail by the lake!) and Jason hasn't been over the bridge yet so we went for it! Here are some cute pictures of took of the two of them on our walk!

Two trouble makers!

Looking out at Hawley and counting the cars drive under us!

What a cutie!

Jillian stopped and dug for rocks...she looked as though she found gold!

Jason has a dinner tonight and regional meeting tomorrow night after work! He is one busy guy...we are really looking for some quality time this weekend=)

A weekend with Grandma Deibert

This past Friday and Saturday Jillian and I drove down to Elgin to spend some time with Grandma Grace. The original plan was to go together as a family (Jason, Jillian and I) Friday night...but Jason had a bachelor party to attend on Saturday so Jillian and I packed the car up Friday morning and headed to Elgin. Grace had invited me to go to her church's craft show on Saturday, so we had some plans for then but nothing to do but hang out on Friday. So we got there and visited with Grandma. Jillian explored Grandma's house inside and out. She let Grandma know when there was something too low and she knew she could break it (really she was just getting into EVERYTHING). That afternoon we went to Grace's church to drop off her bread for the craft show and play on the playground for a minute (it was a bit chilly)but Jillian decided she wanted to explore the grounds! Here are some fun pictures of Jillian looking around Grandma's church.

Grandma was fixing dinner and chatting with me so Jillian made it up the stairs (her favorite thing to do the whole time!) and came out of Grandma's bathroom with a few Jade plant leaves..."Uh Grace, is a Jade plant poisonous? Because Jillian is chewing on a Jade plant!" So we looked it up online and sure enough the plant was semi-toxic. So I placed my first (and probably not the last) call to the poison control hot line. They said it wasn't toxic and what to look for, thankfully she must not have eaten a lot because no ill side effects took place!

The next morning Grace and I were getting ready to go to the craft show and Jillian (of course) was up and down the stairs. Well I was right there at the top putting the blow dryer away and Jillian stepped off the stair and fell all the way down (it was only 6 stairs and they were carpeted!). I think it scared her more than anything, but she did get a little rug burn on the side of her nose. Grace was so nice to invite both my mom and Grandma to join us to shop at the craft show. Jillian was such a lucky lady to be surrounded by so many wonderful women in her family!

This was at the craft show, in her stroller (she never does this anymore!)
We had a fun time at the craft show, found some good things and had a nice lunch/visit. So needless to say, Jillian kept us on our toes this past weekend for sure!

The Zoo...in NOVEMBER!

Yes, we went to the zoo today! We are not just fair weather zoo fans, we go to the zoo even on those chilly fall days. But it actually turned out to be a great day. The sun came out and warmed us up a bit and all the kids had on coats, hats and warm clothes. So it was a lot of fun. We met our good friends Shannon and Broderick there, saw some animals and had lunch! Here are some photos of our great fall zoo day!

Jillian and her buddy Broderick..they both climbed right up on those seats!

Jillian was really interested in the blue water and the sea lions! Daddy can we put those in our fish tank!

Most of the animals had pumpkins in there, and these peacocks were going to town! Notice that there was only one male peacock and all these females...stud!

Cole is visiting the grizzly bears...yes there are bears behind him!

We are on our way to take Cole to school...notice the difference in the two kids!

Winter is almost here...

So Cole wanted to go out and play this morning and the weather was pretty chilly...so we brushed off Jillian's winter coat! I had to laugh after I put it on because I envisioned the little brother from The Christmas Story...Jillian couldn't even put her arms down! Take a look=)
