Pumpkin Carving

We had 3 pumpkins to carve this year and with our busy schedule I did not think it was going to get done in time! So I made a date on Jason work schedule and we blocked the time out Wednesday night. At first Jillian was very into it. She thought the pumpkin was very interesting...even yummy looking (she tries to eat everything these days!) Then when she realized that she could not eat the pumpkin, she became non-interested! Here is our night in pictures!

Jillian is interested in what is going on...

Jillian is not so interested and ready for dinner, so she was pushed back away from the table...

After Jillian ate we had to take a break and give her a bath...as you can see she was losing it big time!

I was able to finish the two smaller pumpkins while Jason gave her a bath!

After Jillian went to bed Jason worked hard on the big pumpkin!

Didn't they turn out great!?! (one pumpkin candle blew out, so there is only 2 in this picture)

The end of Fall...

I know that those warm fall days we have been having are short numbered! So I have been taking advantage of the decent weather we have been having (its not likely we will go out and play during 60 MPH winds, or rain!). I probably will be that mother who bundles everyone up to go out for a walk, swing or playground time! So here are some photos of Nolan, Jillian and I playing at the park on Monday!

Look at these two little cuties. They are going to be the best of friends!

What a girly girl in her pink hat!

What a little man, Bubba!

Elegant Farmer

Last weekend I took Jillian to the Elegant Farmer with some friends from church. Jason stayed back and worked on the basement with Uncle Rod (yes, it is almost done...I promise!). It was a pretty yucky day, rainy in the morning and no sun! But we bundled up and headed out there. Of course Jillian fell asleep in the car. It was about a 30 minute drive and she did wait until we were half way there to fall asleep, so she only slept for about 20 minutes (on account I did get a little lost on the way there!). So, like any normal person, being woken up to go outside in the cold and rain did not make her very pleasant to be around. We went on the hayride first and picked out our pumpkin. With her grumpy mood I was sure she was going to fuss the whole ride...but to my surprise she loved the bumpy ride! She also loved wandering around the pumpkins to find the perfect one! So we headed back on the hay ride, paid for our pumpkin and headed inside for some lunch! The Elegant Farmer is well known for their pumpkin pie...but we opted for a carmel apple instead! Here are some pictures of our time at the pumpkin patch...

We had a little adventure on the way home. We were driving along on I-43 when it sounded like a small aircraft was going to land on the roof of Red Rhonda! So we pulled off to the side and sure enough we had a flat tire. So I tried calling Jason, but working in the basement he didn't get to his phone or didn't get any reception...so I called my parents (in Dekalb...couldn't do much from there) to see if they knew who I should call to help. Mean while I had started to take the spare tire off...or attempted to, how do they expect women to get those things off! Jason did finally call back and headed out to help us. So I climbed in the back seat with Jillian and smelled the wonderful smell of a poopy diaper. So I got her out of her seat and changed her diaper. Of course this couldn't just be any poopy diaper...she had a blowout, so I had to take off her clothes and take off her dirty onsie! As we were getting settled back into the car another car pulled up and out stepped a nice man and his daughter. He saw us pulled over with the flashers on and the hood up and turned around to help. Thank goodness, because I didn't know how to change the tire. If I learned anything, it is to know who to call in these situations because I know I will not be able to change my own tire!

Betty Brinn Children's Museum

Thursday is our playgroup day and we decided to go on a field trip to the children's museum here in Milwaukee. Betty Brinn is a great place for all ages and boy did we have fun! They have a new exhibit, the Mr. Potatoe Head exhibit! Cole and Jillian had a grat time with all the kids, which got me thinking...maybe we need a museum pass! (Hmmm, might have to talk daddy into that one!) Here are some photos of our fun morning!

BIG weekend!

This past weekend was a BIG weekend for all of us...mommy went out of town...overnight! So Jillian and Jason had some daddy/daughter time! When I came home on Sunday everyone was all in one peice so it is safe to say it was a successful weekend!

My weekend plans: This past weekend was my good friend Anni's bachelorette party! She is getting married in December and what a great weekend away for me...to party with some girlfriends! I started my weekend by meeting my cousins Laura and Kim to check out Broadway Paper's selection of wedding invitations. Laura is getting married in April and we think we found the perfect invitation! Then we had a nice lunch at Palms! After lunch I headed down to Dekalb for the party festivities! It was a much needed weekend for me so I was very excited. Here are some pictures of the night!

Jason and Jillian's weekend plans: Jason planned on keeping Jillian as busy as possible! So first thing Saturday morning they headed to the zoo. Daddy even packed a lunch for Jillian so she could eat there and have a longer time at the zoo!

Jillian fell asleep on the way home from the zoo, I guess they had a great time. After she woke up they hung out and played. Jillian went to sleep easily for daddy and he was able to watch a game or two on TV. In the morning they were up and ready to go to early church service. I made it home to a very special sight, Jillian asleep in daddy's lap! What more could a mommy ask for than the two most special people in her life having a great moment (although I have to admit I was a little jealous, I wanted to scoop her up right then and there cause I missed her so!)

Our week in review...

This past week was very busy and a little crazy for us. We had some extra friends over to the house a couple of days this week. Jillian was pretty good, although she is going through her "all I want is mommy phase...", having extra friends at the house is probably a good thing for her. Here are a few pictures of our crazy week and some details for you...
Monday we had Nolan. He was still recovering from his cold (which Jillian gave him in the first place). He was a little more needy as usual, which was totally understandable. So I juggled my day between two babies who wanted and needed my attention!

Tuesday we only had Cole. Jillian is getting closer to only taking one nap so she tends to be kinda cranky in the mornings. Cole and I decided some outdoor air and playing at the park would cheer her up. So we headed to the park to play in the morning.

Wednesday we had new friends, Aiden and Abby, over to play in the morning. Abby is 3 so she played great with Cole. Aiden is just shy of 1 and crawling! They go to our church and we watch them in the nursery on occasion...Aiden tends to cry there. But thankfully he was happy as can be and we all had a lot of fun! I even felt brave enough to take all 4 kids to the park down the street!

Thursday we had our friend Broderick over for the day. His mom had to drive to Minnesota to buy a new car...so Broderick was hanging out with us for the day! He was a trooper and really was a good boy. We decided to go to play group and the kids got to run around some and I got some mommy relief. Here are some photos of the twosome playing.

This is Broderick...isn't he cute!

Which brings us to today...Friday, and all that is planned for us (Jillian and I)is to just hang out...just us! Jillian even slept in! (she slept 13 hours last night...hooray!) We took our time eating breakfast and getting dressed. By the time we were both dressed and ready to go, it was almost 11! So we decided to go on a little fall walk around the neighborhood.

We hope you enjoyed our week as much as we did!? Have a great weekend=)
